Attendance
Parents are requested to notify the school to report a child’s absence. Communicable diseases must be immediately reported to the school.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Conferences with the teachers may be requested at any time during the year. Announcements will be made of regularly scheduled conferences twice a year.
Birthdays-Celebration of Life
Birthdays are celebrated at 8:45 am before breakfast time for the morning session and 2:15 pm before snack time for the afternoon session. The birthday child holds the globe and identifies his/her country of origin on the globe. The parents could bring photographs and memories of milestones crossed to share with the class, and take pictures. Simple treats of cookies, muffins, fruit cup, jello cups, etc. could be given as snack.

Lunch, Breakfast & Afternoon Snack
For morning session: breakfast at 9am, lunch at 12:00pm., afternoon snack at 3:00 . The school participates in the Child Care Food Program (CCFP) which is a Federal program administered by the Department of Agriculture (USDA) food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The primary goal of the CCFP is to improve the diets of children 12 and under. The CCFP benefits children by helping them to receive nutritious meals, introducing them to different types of food, and by promoting healthful eating habits to last throughout their lives. A lunch menu is sent home every month.
Toys
Children may not bring toys to the classroom. Books and artifacts related to the lesson on the Continent discussed are welcome. These items are shared at " Sharing time " that is done during the second circle time at 11:15.
Inspection by Licensing & CCFP
Without advance notice the agencies have the right to inspect the school to ensure compliance with all the regulations.

Supplies
You need to provide your child with the following items to be kept at school:
A complete change of clothes to be kept in the child’s cubby: underwear, socks,
Pants, and shirt, etc.
- House shoes or slippers to be worn inside the classroom. Outside shoes carry germs and dirt that quickly transfer to children, materials and carpet!
- Earthquake kit labeled, in a Ziploc gallon bag. It should include the following items:
- Your family photo.
- Change of clothes.
- Emergency blanket.
- Snack and drink that will not expire for 12 months.
- A note to your child.
- An index card with emergency phone numbers, including area contact number plus one from out of the state of California.
- List of allergies, if any and medicine to be given.
Clothing
Play clothes are recommended: simple, washable and easy to manage. Sneakers or rubber soled shoes are strongly recommended as children wearing loose fitting sandals and flip flops on the backyard play structure could easily trip or fall, injuring themselves. Please avoid shoes with laces and cumbersome buckles until the child is able to wear them without help.
